Cogenon now in charge of operations at PowerTherm

Hamburg, May 16th, 2011: The Hamburg-based Cogenon CHP GmbH will take over business operations at PowerTherm Energy Systems GmbH, effective the 16th of May, 2011. Both companies are active in different sectors of the thermal power plant (TPP) market, complementing each other perfectly. This year, business operations will be transferred from PowerTherm to the neighboring Cogenon facility in Hambur-Harburg in order to make optimal use of synergy effects. The integration process will preserve all 15 PowerTherm jobs on a long-term basis.

While Cogenon manufacturers thermal power plants with capacities of 6.5 kW (electrical performance) and larger, 400 kW units, PowerTherm specializes in the production and distribution of thermal power plants with capacities of between 15-25 kW. Technologically speaking, the two companies fit together very well, as Gogenon specializes in fixed-rpm power plants while PowerTherm builds rpm-modulating systems. Cogenon customers will now have even more choice from a single source and can profit from an even wider range of individually suited systems featuring optimal economy.

The distribution organization will be based on the three columns of Cogenon’s direct distribution system as well as on the expansion of the PowerTherm distribution partner network and the combined service network of both firms. The company will continue to be known as Cogenon. PowerTherm will continue to be used as a product name for rpm-modulated thermal power plants.
