The design of PowerTherm® is the result of the core competence of the energy plant engineering company Spilling, with its many years of experience in the CHP sector.

Solid industrial engineering for your business.
Unlike many other CHP units in its power class, PowerTherm® is driven by an engine that has been specifically designed for industrial use. Contrary to car engines, this engine type features an extraordinary long-life cycle and ease of maintenance.

Typical of our high-quality design is the use of solid cast iron not only for manufacture of the engine mount but also for the cylinder heads. The camshaft is gear-driven and not - as is common - via a cam belt.

The inherently slow running PowerTherm® engine is run beyond the design speed of 3,000 rpm, which contributes to an even higher lifecycle.

The result: PowerTherm® runs up to 40,000 operational hours before a major inspection is necessary. In other words approx. 2 millions of kilometres - or more than 47 times around the world!

A decisive aspect is that the engine is run at variable speed so there is no throttle during operation. It runs constantly at optimum performance and medium piston speed. Thus, the energy of your fuel is exploited to a maximum and the electrical efficiency within the entire power range remains at a constant level.
